ここ数年はおなじ音楽ジャンル内で作曲者を限定してしまっていて、特にクラシックはモーツアルト、ブラームス、ブルックナー、ドビュッシーのみでマーラーはまったくといって聴いていなかったのだった。
For the last few years I've limited composers within the same musical genre, especially classical music only Mozart, Brahms, Bruckner and Debussy, and Mahler at all I didn't listen to.

エルヴィン・シュタインによる室内アンサンブル版のマーラー交響曲４番をペトレンコ指揮でチェックした後からこの曲に惹かれ、YouTubeでどのディスクの購入がよいか約半年間探していたのだった。以前いいと思っていたマーラーの３番や５番よりも４番がいいなあと思わせてくれたのである。
However, when I was fishing for a limited time free site in the Berlin Philharmoniker because of Corona, I was attracted to this work after checking the indoor ensemble version of Mahler Symphony No. 4 by Erwin Stein under the direction of Petrenko, and which disc on YouTube I was looking for a good purchase for about half a year. That made me think that symphony No. 4 was better than symphonies No. 3 and 5, which I used to think was good.
テンシュテット盤は持っていて２０年以上前にこの曲を聴きこみ始めたのがこの盤。
指揮は良いのだが今聴いてみると４楽章のソプラノが野暮ったく聴こえる。
I have a Tennstedt board and started listening to this work more than 20 years ago.
The command is good, but when I listen to it now, the soprano of the 4 movements sounds unfashionable.

バーンスタイン盤２種；どちらもこぶしがきいていてレガートも十分だがテンシュテットと同じで４楽章のボーイソプラノを含むソプラノに不満が残る
Two Bernstein boards; both are fisted and legato is sufficient, but I am dissatisfied with the sopranos, which are the same as Tennstedt and include the four-movement boy soprano.

ブーレーズ盤；曲としてもう少し歌ってほしいところがあるが、ソプラノのバンゼの声質が現代曲作品（Kurtak: Kafka Fragment）で元々お気に入りであったのでこの盤に決めようとしていた。
Boulez board; I would like you to sing a little more as a song, but I was trying to decide on this board because the voice quality of the soprano Banse was originally my favorite in the contemporary song work (Kurtak: Kafka Fragment).

その他指揮者（ノイマン、アバド等さらに最近のものも）もまだまだ聴き比べ足りない
状態で探しているとバンゼが歌っているシノーポリ盤が見つかった。
これまで聴いてきたものとまったく違うアプローチでバンゼも歌っていて、これはまさしく「目から鱗が落ちる」いや「耳垢が自然に外に排出される」思いが募りました。
ペトレンコとは別にあの日本人新鋭指揮者の坂入健司郎が最近同じ録音をしたことからも（両方の音源入手を楽しみにしていますが）コロナの影響下で自分も含めた人々の救いの気持ちに寄り添う音楽（天国での音楽）が必要と思われる今日このごろです。
I haven't heard enough of the other conductors (Neumann, Abbado, and more recently), but when I was looking for it in that state, I found a Sinopoli board sung by Banse.
Banse was also singing with a completely different approach from what I had heard so far, and this really raised the feeling that "scales fall from the eyes" or "earwax is naturally discharged to the outside".
Apart from Petrenko, Kenshiro Sakairi, a new Japanese conductor, recently made the same recording (I'm looking forward to getting both sound sources), so I feel the relief of people including myself under the influence of Corona. Nowadays, it seems that we need music to snuggle up to (music in heaven).
