BOWIEが亡くなってからというものROCKに期待がますます無くなってしまっていた僕だが、それでも何かいいものがないか新しいものがないか、今までまったく聴いていないが期待が持てるバンドRADIOHEADのCHECKをすることにした。
バンドメンバーのColin Charles Greenwoodの作品はペンデレツキの作品に影響を受けていたようで彼の作品は聴いてはいた。
今回の作品は５年ぶりのアルバムで巷では彼らの最高傑作だと、、、
うーん、何か新しいことはしてるかって、
音的にはちょっと捻っているのだけど。
明らかに影響受けて出てくるのはJOHN LENNON、PINK FLOYD 、BRIAN ENO。
特にENOについては「The Plateaux Of Mirror」をカラオケに歌ってしまっている
ような曲が最後にあり、ちょっとがっかりだったことも。

そんな中でも、トムヨークが憂い、夢遊していることに共感してしまうのは、
コーラスの多用や彼のボーカルの力によることが大きい。
今のROCKを聴きたくなったら、RADIOHEADをしばらく聴いていようか、、
